The formal character of the original building is defined by its unusual roof shape and prominent chimney. The client was keen to open up the rear of the property which contained the kitchen and was disorganised and dark. The client wanted to create a modern extension that was better connected to the outdoor space. As a result of a fire and resulting weather damage, the building had to be completed taken down and rebuilt.
